The number for emergency services in the Netherlands is 112.

Fire procedures:

The Makerspace is equipped with a fire extinguisher in the workshop and in the collaboration area (loft area).

In case of a LARGE fire that cannot be controlled, evacuate the Makerspace, engage the fire alarm and call 112. There are two fire alarms located outside of the space. One approximately 10 meters directly to the left of the exit, and another on the wall in front of the Makerspace, approximately 10 meters to the right.

The fire alarm will NOT go off automatically if there is smoke. There is a hose across the hallway from the Makerspace which can be used AFTER the fire alarm is activated.

First aid:

A first aid equipment is located in the workshop. This can be used under supervision of the Makerspace staff/shift supervisor.

All supervisors should have basic first aid training and be familiar with the first aid protocols:

General safety guidelines:

  1. Use tools that are the right size & right type for your job.
  2. Follow the correct procedure for using every tool. (Training Scripts )
  3. Keep your cutting tools sharp and in good condition.
  4. Don’t work with oily or greasy hands.
  5. Cut away from yourself when using chisels and other edged tools.
  6. Handle sharp-edged and pointed tools with care.
